Information

The Children’s Choir Festival, sponsored by the Dallas Chapter Choristers Guild, is a combined event for children in grades 1 through 6.  We suggest that children in grades 1-3 be included in the Lower Elementary Choir and grades 4-6 participate in the Upper Elementary choir.  We recognize, however, that some choirs have different grade combinations and may want to include 3rd grade with the Upper Elementary singers.

Children’s Choir Festivals provide children with the opportunity to sing with many children from other churches and schools.  The purpose of these events is to provide a positive, creative and festive experience for them as they work together with the festival clinicians to make beautiful and memorable music.

We hope to see many of your choristers at this event!

2:00-2:15   Arrive

Festival attire:  white shirts & black pants or skirts.

Festival Clinicians

Lynda Morrison (Lower Elementary)

Lynda serves as the Coordinator of Children’s Choirs at Custer Road United Methodist Church. She has served at Custer Road for over 20 years and now directs a program that involves over 200 children in 10 choirs every week. Lynda has also taught preschool music for a Montessori school and private piano lessons.

Lynda earned her Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Piano Performance from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. She especially loves music in general and writing music for kids.

Judi Davidson (Upper Elementary)

Judi teaches elementary music at The Episcopal School of Dallas where she also directs a select fourth grade choir that performs on campus and in the community.  She also directs Joyful Noise Choir, grades 3-5, at Highland Park United Methodist Church.  She is a frequent Children's Choir clinician.

Judi sings in the Chancel Choir at HPUMC, as well as the Dallas Symphony Chorus. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, with concentrations in piano and choral conducting.  She also has certifications in Kindermusik, Orff and Kodaly.
